Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information I collect when you join my reader newsletter or download a free book, how I use it, and the choices you have. "I", "me" and "Briar Kessel" mean the author running this site and newsletter.
What I collect
- Your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it, when you sign up for the newsletter, claim a free book, or join my advance reader team.
- Basic email activity, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. My email provider records this so I can tell which emails readers find useful.
- Anything you send me if you reply to an email or write to me directly.
I do not collect payment details. Books bought on Amazon or other stores are handled entirely by those stores under their own privacy policies.
How I use it
- To deliver the free book or advance copy you asked for.
- To send my newsletter: new releases, bonus content, and occasional recommendations of books by other authors that I think you'll enjoy.
- To reply to you when you write to me.
I never sell, rent or trade your information.
Who helps me handle it
- BookFunnel delivers free books and advance copies, and passes your email address to my newsletter when you claim a book from a sign-up page. BookFunnel's privacy policy is linked at the foot of bookfunnel.com.
- EmailOctopus stores the newsletter list and sends my emails. See EmailOctopus's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and may process basic technical data, such as your IP address, to keep the site secure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Why I'm allowed to use it
I use your information because you gave consent when you signed up. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.
How long I keep it
I keep your information while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, I stop emailing you straight away. I may keep a record that you unsubscribed so you are not added again by mistake.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of every email.
- See, correct or delete the information I hold about you by emailing [email protected]. I'll reply within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
Age
My books are adult romance with explicit content. The newsletter is for readers aged 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
